About Us

Perennial Lawn Care & Landscaping was established in 1997 and later incorporated in 2001. For future development purposes, the company was renamed PLC Landcare in 2011, remaining underneath its' original corporate umbrella. Founded by Owner/President Doug Hammond as a part-time mowing service, PLC Landcare has evolved into a full-time landscape and lawn care company over the years. Fueled by his passion for people and a strong work ethic, Doug set out to pursue his dream.

Doug first began his professional landscape career working for Avon Turf Farms learning all aspects of sod cultivation, turfgrass management and lawn installation. This spawned the desire to operate a business related to the landscape industry. Firmly grounded in his faith for Jesus Christ and a strong desire to serve others, Doug soon realized the possibilities were endless. This paved the way toward building a family-owned and operated lawn care service.

Fulfilling a lifelong dream, both he and his wife Pam enjoy sharing a rich heritage with their three children Noah, Nathan and Olivia. The family becomes the seventh generation to dwell in their 19th century farmhouse which was constructed by Doug's ancestry. Together, they treasure their rural Oberlin surroundings that offers plenty of room to roam for the children and an abundance of space for Doug to develop.

Although PLC Landcare is relatively small within the industry, it is competitively large in service offerings. Boasting a portfolio of distinctive residential, commercial and industrial properties, PLC Landcare does it all.

"We believe in continually monitoring our service with every client and visit their properties often." says Doug. It is essential that all facets of client expectations are achieved. This concept helped to establish the company mission statement and is exemplified by Doug's strong work ethic and distinctive personalized service. This is further demonstrated by his genuine care and concern for each of his clients.

On the horizon, PLC Landcare hopes to continue to serve the communities it presently services while completing advanced educational training within the landscape industry. The goals are to continue and cultivate the growth and success of the company while delivering exceptional service to each and every client served now and well into the future.
